How to make Vegetable Mix for Baby?

Ingredients:

  • Spinach – 10g
  • Green gram, de-husked – 10g
  • Curd – 20g
  • Potato – 20g
  • Carrot – 10g
  • Jaggery – 30g

Method:

  1. Roast and grind the dal.
  2. Boil and mash the vegetables
  3. Mix all the ingredients to form smooth paste.
  4. Cook on low heat to blend flavor for 3-4 min till done.

Points to remember:

  1. Nutritive content: It should have nutritive content per 100g. i.e, nutrient dense- the important nutrients beings carbohydrates, proteins, iron, vitamin A and C.
  2. Digestibility: Fiber content should not be more than 3-5g per 100g.
  3. Cooking time: Not more than 5-15 min.
  4. Texture
  • : 4-6 months – semi solid, smooth texture.
  • : 6-9 months – soft foods with small lumps.
  • : 9-12 months – chopped and lumpy foods
