HOW TO MAKE BENGALI FISH CURRY?

Ingredients:

  • Fish – 100g
  • Kashmiri chili powder – ¼ tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt – 1/8 tsp
  • Mustard oil – 1 tsp
  • Coriander leaves – a few spring
  • Chili powder – 1/8 tsp
  • Garam masala – ½ tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1/8 tsp
  • Onion – 100g chopped finely
  • Cinnamon – 1 tsp
  • Clove – 1
  • Cardamom – 1
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Tomato – 5g
  • Curd – 1 Tbsp
  • Water – ¼ Cup
  • Coriander leaves – a few spring

Method:

  1. Roast and grind clove, cinnamon and cardamom into fine powder.
  2. Boil , peel and chop the tomato.
  3. Clean, wash and cut the fish into 3 pieces.
  4. Smear with turmeric, chili powder and salt. Shallow fry it lightly in mustard oil and remove.
  5. Clean and grind the coriander leaves, chili powder, garam masala, mustard seeds and garlic to paste. Mix the paste with all the powdered condiments together.
  6. In the heated oil, fry the onion.
  7. Add the grounded masala paste and chopped tomatoes and cook till done. (the raw smell/taste should not be there).
  8. Crush the tomatoes and add the well beaten curd and simmer for 5 min,
  9. Add the fried fish and water and simmer for another 5 min till done.

Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves. And Enjoy!😊
