HOW TO VERMICELLI KHEER?

INGREDIENTS:

  • Roasted Vermicelli – ½ cup
  • Jaggery syrup – 1 cup (as per your taste)
  • Ghee
  • Cashews – 5-6 no
  • Raisins – 5-6 no
  • Coconut Milk – ½
  • Cardamom – 1 tsp crushed

METHOD:

  1. Grate and grind the coconut and extract 1st coconut milk and keep it aside. Grind again and extract 2nd coconut milk – 1 cup
  2. Bring 1 cups of water to boil.
  3. Add vermicelli and cook it.
  4. Approximately after 2 min strain and add the 2nd extract of coconut milk to it. Lower the flame
  5. Keep stirring.
  6. Add the jaggery syrup and mix it well. Let it boil . Adjust as per your consistency need.
  7. Now add the 1st extract of coconut milk and cardamom and stir continuously in low flame.
  8. When the payasam is thick enough off the flame.
  9. Heat ghee in a pan and fry the cashew and raisins.
  10. Add them to the payasam and enjoy!
