TOMATO CHUTNEY

HOW TO MAKE TOMATO CHUTNEY?

INGREDIENTS:

  • Tomatoes - 3
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Chili powder - 1 tsp.
  • Garlic - 3 cloves 
  • Ginger - 1 cm
  • Curry leaves - a spring.
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp.
  • Onion - 1/2 a onion.
  • Urad dal - 1/4 tsp.
  • Dry red chilli - 2 no
  • Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp

METHODS:

  1. Heat half the oil in a pan and saute garlic, ginger and onion till cooked.
  2. Add the powdered spices except for asafoetida and roast them for a minute.
  3. Add the tomatoes and cook them till mushy.
  4. let it cool .
  5. Grind it into a paste.
  6. Heat the oil in a pan, sputter mustard seeds, urad dal, dry chili and curry leaves.
  7. Garnish it over the chutney and add asafoetida on the floating oil and cover it.
  8. After 2 min mix well and serve.
