FISH MOILEE

HOW TO MAKE FISH MOILEE?

INGREDIENTS:

  • Pomfret – 500g
  • Onion – 55g
  • Ginger – 10g
  • Coconut- 1
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Garlic – 4 flakes
  • Green chilies – 10g
  • Vinegar – 10g
  • Lime – 1 large
  • Water – 115ml
  • Potatoes – 225g
  • Turmeric – 1/8 tsp
  • Oil – 15ml
  • Salt – as per your taste

METHOD:

  1. Clean and wash in cold water and cut the fish.
  2. Peel and slice garlic, ginger and onion, slit green chilies.
  3. Make 2 extracts of coconut milk – grate 1 fresh coconut and grind in mixer and squeeze the 1st milk. And later grind the same squeezed coconut with 115 ml of water and extract the second milk.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and saute sliced onion with turmeric and salt till transparent.
  5. Add the garlic, ginger, curry leaves and green chilies till the raw smell disappears.
  6.  Now add the potatoes and the cut pieces of fish and cook them in the second extract of coconut milk. Cook gently in low flame.
  7. When the fish and potatoes are cooked, bring to a boiling point and add the 1st extract of coconut milk, give it a good mix and add the lime juice and vinegar.

Serve Hot.
