GOAN FISH CURRY

HOW TO MAKE GOAN FISH CURRY?

INGREDIENTS:

  • Fish (Salmon, hilsa or jew fish) – 300gm
  • Kashmiri chilies – 10
  • Turmeric Powder – ¼ tsp
  • Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
  • Coconut – ½ a coconut
  • Tamarind – walnut size
  • Dry mango pieces – 3
  • Salt - as per your taste.

METHOD:

  1. Clean and slice fish.
  2. Apply salt and set aside for half an hour.
  3. Grind together Kashmiri chilies, turmeric powder, coriander seeds and grated coconut into a fine paste. When half done add the tamarind and grind to get fine paste.
  4. Add enough water to a pan to cook the fish and bring to boil along with enough salt and the ground paste prepared.
  5. Add fish pieces and cut mango pieces and simmer till fish is done.
