HOW TO VERMICELLI KHEER?

INGREDIENTS:

  • Roasted Vermicelli – 150g
  • Sugar – ½ cup (as per your taste)
  • Ghee - 1 Tbsp
  • Cashews – 5-6 no
  • Raisins – 5-6 no
  • Milkmaid – 300g
  • Milk – 2 cup
  • Cardamom – 1 tsp crushed

METHOD:

  1. Break the vermicelli if long in size.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp of ghee in a pan and roast the nuts and keep it aside.
  3. To the same ghee roast the vermicelli and roast for about 2 min or remove before it changes its colour.
  4. To the same pan, boil 4 cups of water.
  5. Add vermicelli and cook it.
  6. Add the milk and mix it well.
  7. Add the sugar and mix and let it boil.
  8. Now add the milkmaid and mix well in medium flame for 5 min.
  9. Adjust a little looser than your required consistency.
  10. Now add the cardamom powder and mix well and off the flame.

PS : Let it sit for a while it will further thicken.

Add the fried nuts and raisins to the payasam/kheer and enjoy! 😀
