SWEET PURI

HOW TO SWEET PURI?

INGREDIENTS:

  • Wheat flour – 150g
  • Fat – 10g
  • Sugar – 20 g
  • Salt – ½ tsp
  • Oil – enough for frying
  • Split green gram – 100g
  • Poppy seeds – ½ tsp
  • Cumin seeds –  ¼ tsp
  • Cloves – 2
  • Cinnamon – 1 small piece
  • Cardamom - 2

METHOD:

  1. Slit flour, rub fat, add water to make a smooth dough.
  2. Divide into equal portions. Set aside for 30 min to 1 hr
  3. Clean and soak the gram for min 30 min.
  4. Cook the gram till tender and dry.
  5. Roast and grind all the mentioned spices to powder.
  6. Add the powder and sugar to the cooked gram.
  7. Flatten each dough ball, put in a small ball of filling, and enclose the filling with the edges.
  8. Roll out with little flour to medium thickness puri.
  9. Deep fry them in medium to low flame.

Serve hot.
