LIME RICE

HOW TO MAKE LIME RICE?

INGREDIENTS:

  • Rice- 500g
  • Lime – 2
  • Fenugreek seeds- ½ tsp
  • Turmeric – 1 tsp
  • Split black gram – 15g
  • Split Bengal gram – 15g
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
  • Peanuts – 30g
  • Asafetida – a pinch
  • Cashew – 30g
  • Curry leaves – a spring
  • Salt – as per your taste
  • Red chilies – 5g

METHOD:

  1. Wash and boil rice with enough salt till 90% done.
  2. Rinse with cold water and keep it aside.
  3. Roast and powder fenugreek seeds, black gram, turmeric powder.
  4. Mix with the cooked rice along with lime juice.
  5. Heat oil, fry nuts and remove.
  6. Add curry leaves, mustard seeds, asafetida, Bengal gram and red chilies.
  7. Add to rice, mix well.

Serve hot.
