HOW TO MAKE MASALA OATS?
INGREDIENTS:
- Plain Oats - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 1/2 small size
- Carrot - 1/2 small
- Beans - 2
- Capsicum - 1/8 of a capsicum
- Peas - 2 Tbsp
- Green Chilly - 2
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Ginger - 1/2 cm
- Tomato - 1 small
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Chili powder - 1/4 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/8 tsp
- Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
- Oil - 2 Tbsp
- Coriander leaves - handful
- Salt - 1/4 tsp (as per your taste)
METHOD:
- Soak oats in 1 and 1/2 cup of water for 15 min.
- Chop onion, beans , carrot and capsicum finely.
- Finely chop ginger and garlic.
- Slit green chili into equal
- Heat oil in a pan, in medium flame, add cumin seeds, after 5 sec add ginger, garlic , green chili and onion.
- Saute till soft.
- Lower the flame and add all the powdered spices and saute till raw smell disappear.
- Add the tomato and cook till soft and cooked.Mash the tomato.
- Add the vegetables give it a mix. Add the soaked oats with soaked water.
- Let it boil. Once boiled lower the flame and cook it til vegetables are done and oats are soft. Occasional give it a stir.
- Once done, remove from fire,garnish with chopped coriander leaves and let it sit for another 5 min to cool down and thicken.
