HOW TO MAKE MASALA OATS?

INGREDIENTS:

  • Plain Oats - 1/2 cup
  • Onion - 1/2 small size
  • Carrot - 1/2 small
  • Beans - 2
  • Capsicum -  1/8 of a capsicum
  • Peas - 2 Tbsp
  • Green Chilly - 2
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Ginger - 1/2 cm
  • Tomato - 1 small
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Chili powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/8 tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2 Tbsp
  • Coriander leaves - handful
  • Salt - 1/4 tsp (as per your taste)

METHOD:

  1. Soak oats in 1 and 1/2 cup of water for 15 min.
  2. Chop onion, beans , carrot and capsicum finely.
  3. Finely chop ginger and garlic.
  4. Slit green chili into equal
  5. Heat oil in a pan, in medium flame, add cumin seeds, after 5 sec add ginger, garlic , green chili and onion.
  6. Saute till soft.
  7. Lower the flame and add all the powdered spices and saute till raw smell disappear.
  8. Add the tomato and cook till soft and cooked.Mash the tomato.
  9. Add the vegetables give it a mix. Add the soaked oats with soaked water.
  10. Let it boil. Once boiled lower the flame and cook it til vegetables are done and oats are soft. Occasional give it a stir.
  11. Once done, remove from fire,garnish with chopped coriander leaves and let it sit for another 5 min to cool down and thicken.
