HOW TO MAKE SOUTH-INDIAN STYLE BUTTERMILK?
INGREDIENTS:
- Buttermilk – 3 cups
- Ginger – ¼ inch
- Green chilies – 2
- Garlic – 1
- Small/Red onion – 2
- Cumin powder – a pinch
- Turmeric – ½ tsp
- Curry leaves – few
- Salt – to taste
- Lime leaf – if preferred 1/4th.
METHOD:
- Add salt and curry leaves to buttermilk.
- Crush the remaining ingredients and tie them in a muslin bag and dip it in the buttermilk for 2 min.
- With a spoon press the muslin bag and extract the flavor.
- Set aside for 2 hours in claypot or refrigerator.
Strain and serve.
